Hello, bidding war.
Fashion Star contestant and Edmonton-bred fashion designer Cassandra Hobbins stole the show Friday night when her geo tunic sparked a major battle between Macy’s and Express.
The winning buyer ended up being Express. And believe it or not, they’re already sold out of one of the tunic’s colours called warm stone.
Somebody, pop the champagne!
The buyers even complimented Hobbins on her versatility, hinting that the other contestants (many of whom didn’t get bought this week) should be taking note of her gumption. I think this episode made Hobbins one of the show’s front runners, alongside my other fave Fashion Star contestant Hunter Bell. Bell’s totally gorgeous peplum dress was also picked up by Express.
Fashion really isn’t my husband’s thing, but he’s been glued to this season ever since I started watching it. Out of all the pieces he’s seen thus far he loved Hobbins’ tunic best. When a guy preoccupied with playing mini golf on his phone looks up and says he really likes an item, you know you’ve got something good going on.
