Last night, I finally had a chance to watch the latest episode of Fashion Star. Friday’s live news coverage of the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bomber meant the show got pushed and my PVR taped the news instead.
It was a sad week in news and a kinda-sorta sad week for Cassandra Hobbins. Hobbins was paired up with her Team John partner Silvia Arguello to create garments “for a night on the town,” inspired by a silver Fiat. They then had to direct a photo shoot featuring their outfits and the car.
The Edmonton designer failed to sell to any of the three buyers, which put her up for elimination.
There are only a few Fashion Star episodes remaining with five designers left in the running. The challenges are getting harder and even the slightest mistake can mean the boot. Hobbins managed to stay in the game, but next week is really going to show who will unravel under pressure and who will survive. I feel so melancholy about the whole thing. Everyone is so freakin’ talented. They all deserve to win. Can’t they all just win? If I had a billion dollars, I’d pay them all to live in my closet and make me the clothes I pin on Pinterest.
